Petruta Pirvan is a Privacy Professional specialised in international legal practice in the IT industry.

She has a Bachelor degree in Law Sciences from Dimitrie Cantemir University in Romania and a micro Master Certificate in International Law from UCLouvain in Belgium.

Petruta is an IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) and holds their CIPP/E, CIPP/US and CIPM certifications. She is an experienced in-house counsel specialised in data protection and privacy matters for global corporations such as Oracle and Accenture and led the Global Privacy Compliance Program in A.P. Moller-Maersk setting up the group privacy practices, guidance and policies.

In 2020 she was designated a 'Thought Leader in Data Privacy' by One Trust DataGuidance with whom she frequently collaborates for international webinars and conferences. The same year, Petruta’s IAPP session, “5G – The Forthcoming Digital Revolution,” was selected as part of the IAPP’s Women Leading Privacy programming and featured afterwards by IAPP in the Privacy Tracker under the article “5G to raise privacy challenges and opportunities.”
